For the last 18 years, Maksim Vorobyev has been working at the company “Russian Sea” in various positions. He started in student years as a sales manager, in a few years he became the general director and later the biggest stakeholder of the company. In November 2009, Maksim Vorobyev became the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He managed to turn a small company dealing exclusively in the resale of imported fish from Norway into a strong and profitable group of companies engaged in different directions of the fish industry.
In 1998, he graduated from the economic faculty of MGIMO (Moscow, Russia), specialty "International economic relations with knowledge of foreign language". The focus on development and education led him to the acquisition of new knowledge, so Maksim Vorobyev finished the year in prestigious Spanish business school IESE and received a master degree in business administration. Also, he attained the certificate of financial market specialist, which allows Maksim Vorobyev to be legal and professional participant of the financial market.
Thanks to his experience, professional management, important and sometimes difficult strategic decisions and understanding of the potential of the company, “Russian sea” became one of the largest Russian distributors of fish and seafood.
Despite the fact that his main concern still is the prosperity and further development of “Russian Sea”, Maksim Vorbyev has business interests in different spheres. One of his most successful activities is a construction business. He has shares in many construction companies, and corporations, such as “Stroytransgaz”, “SPb Renovation” and “Glavstroy-SPb”. In addition, he made a profitable investment in the shares of the Bank “Saint-Petersburg” and today he owns 2.5 %.
His desire for professional growth makes him constantly evolve in the economic environment despite all crises and obstacles. It is obvious, that Maksim Vorbyev has a strong business instinct that helps him invests only in projects that have a good potential and in the future will make a profit.
